Morning Mindbender for Monday 1/22/18
The Federal Government has done this 18 times since 1976.
It’s Day 3 of the current Federal Government shutdown but it has happened before – a lot of times! The most recent time was about four years ago. What does it mean for you? Unless you work for the federal government or need a passport this week, not that much. Essential employees will still be required to work and will get paid. You will still get you mail and the military and air traffic controllers will still be on the job and will get paid, although there might be a bit of a delay in pay if the shutdown continues too long. You won’t be able to get a passport until the government opens back up and some support services might not be available. Fingers crossed they’ll work it out soon! How will you be affected by the shutdown?
