44th Annual CMA Awards Nominations: Miranda Lambert Leads With Nine Noms
It was one for the record books when the final list of nominees for The 44th Annual CMA Awards was announced today with fresh faces layered throughout the field of finalists vying for a coveted crystal trophy on "Country Music's Biggest Night." When the final nominations were tallied, Miranda Lambert led the list of finalists with nine nominations - the most for any female artist in the history of the CMA Awards. Alan Jackson received 10 nominations in 2002. Prior to that, Merle Haggard held the record with nine in 1970. Lambert received nominations for Entertainer; Female Vocalist; Album for Revolution, produced by Frank Liddell and Mike Wrucke; two for Single, "The House That Built Me" and "White Liar;" Song for "White Liar," which she co-wrote with Natalie Hemby; Musical Event, for "Bad Angel" with Dierks Bentley and Jamey Johnson; and two for Music Video of the Year for "The House That Built Me," directed by Trey Fanjoy, and "White Liar," directed by Chris Hicky. Lady Antebellum garnered the second highest number of CMA Awards nominations with five, including Entertainer; Album for Need You Now; Vocal Group; Single for "Need You Now"; and Music Video of the ...

Brad Paisley To Take H20 Tour Through November
Brad Paisley has added a new stretch of dates onto his current H20 tour. In addition to the 45 previously booked dates, Paisley will now play an addition 13 shows that will take him through to November 20. Darius Rucker and Justin Moore will continue to provide support for the new dates. In a recent interview with The Boot, Paisley reveals that while the tour has been a blast for performers and fans alike, it also has a greater goal. "It's not all fun and games," the singer says. "There's obviously going to be fun and games with the Chevy simulators and the fishing thing and the dunking booth for DJs and all of that, but then there's a booth that talks about water charities." He adds: "That was my intent in the beginning, to make this thing more important than just a bunch of people getting drunk on the lawn every night."

ABC Hosts CMA 'Tweet 'N' Greet' Tonight
ABC will host the second annual CMA Music Festival "Tweet 'N' Greet" on their official website on Wednesday, September 1. Fans can sign on to see live tweets from some of country's biggest names as they appear on ABC's special CMA Music Festival: Country's Night to Rock. Both events kick off at 8 PM Eastern Time and will include appearances and tweets by artists such as Julianne Hough(@JulianneHough), Lady Antebellum (@ladyantebellum), Reba McEntire (@Reba), Tim McGraw (@TimMcGrawArtist), Blake Shelton (@BlakeShelton), Keith Urban (@KeithUrban) and Zac Brown Band (@ZacBrownBand). "As an event, CMA Music Festival is about these unique interaction opportunities between the artist community and the fans," Ben Bennett, CMA Digital Marketing Manager, says in an official statement. "The Tweet 'N' Greet is a fun, inventive way of translating that artist/fan connection to the ABC broadcast. Trace Adkins To Release Double Hits Album
Trace Adkins is releasing a greatest hits album titled The Definitive Greatest Hits Package: Til the Last Shot's Fired. The double album will include 28 of his biggest hits and is set to land in stores on October 12. The career-spanning set will range from Adkins' 1996 debut single "There's a Girl in Texas" through 2009's "All I Ask for Anymore." It will also feature many of the singer's number one hits including "You're Gonna Miss This," "(This Ain't No) Thinkin' Thing" and "Ladies Love Country Boys." Adkins recently parted ways with his former label Capitol-Nashville and is now signed to Show Dog/Universal Music, which is headed by Toby Keith. His debut on the label, Cowboy's Back in Town, hit stores on August 17 and currently holds the number one spot on the Billboard Country Albums chart.

First Set Of CMA Nominations Out
Miranda Lambert and Lady Antebellum lead the pack for number of nominations for the CMA Awards this year. The nominations, which were announced by Chris Young and Justin Moore on Tuesday morning at a press conference in Nashville, revealed those vying for the New Artist, Vocal Duo, Vocal Group, Musician, Single and Song and Music Video of the Year awards. Nominations for Entertainer, Male Vocalist, Female Vocalist, Album and Musical Event of the Year awards will be announced September 1 on ABC's Good Morning America. Lambert received five nominations, and she is competing against herself for video and single of the year with her songs "The House That Built Me" and "White Liar". Lady Antebellum netted four nominations, three of them for their crossover hit "Need You Now." Taylor Swift and Keith Urban Visit Target
Keith Urban and Taylor Swift made a visit to Target last week, but their trip was all business.   Urban and Swift, along with John Legend, Enrique Iglesias and Charice, performed at the annual Target manager’s meeting.   Swift documented the experience via Twitter, posting pictures of some of the crowd and the company dog. Urban also updated his Twitter, to alert fans of his return to Nashville.

Details Announced For New Kid Rock Album
Kid Rock has confirmed the details of his eighth studio album, Born Free, which is set to hit stores on November 16. The album will feature a host of guest artists from various genres including Bob Seger, Sheryl Crow, Zac Brown, Trace Adkins and the Red Hot Chili Peppers' Chad Smith. Hip-hop and country fans will also be in for a treat as T.I. and Martina McBride will also reportedly connect on one of the album's tracks. All-star producer Rick Rubin manned the helm for the project. In a statement, Rock says: "The catalyst for this record was Detroit, and my thoughts on the world through the lens of Detroit." He added that "watching everything go downhill over the past few years, the economy, the loss of jobs everywhere, I wanted to make a record that reflected the times but that still had soul." His reps agree, saying in a press release that Born Free features "edge, wit, and swagger," yet "there isn't even a parental warning sticker." The title track "Born Free" will serve as Rock's lead-off single and is expected to hit airwaves in mid September.

Jake Owen's Concert Moved To A Larger Venue
Jake Owen's annual concert in Vero Beach, Florida, will take place in a bigger venue this year. The show, which has sold out four years in a row, will now be held at the historic Holman Stadium on Friday, December 10. The annual concert is part of the Mardy's Tennis & Jake's Music Fest to Benefit the Mardy Fish Foundation. It will take place in the baseball stadium used as the summer home for the Los Angeles Dodgers. Box seats for the tennis exhibition are $75, while general admission is $35. Tickets for Owen's concert will cost $75 for premier seats, which are located on the field, and $15 for general admission. In other news, Owen has been added to the lineup for for this year's Charlie Daniels Band & Friends Concert, which will take place Monday, November 22 at Nashville's Ryman Auditorium. The event will also feature performances by Montgomery Gentry and Sawyer Brown.

The McClymonts To Open Jason Aldean's Fall Run
Australian trio the McClymonts have confirmed an extended U.S. tour as the opening act for Jason Aldean. The tour will kick off on September 10 at the Expo Center in Corbin, Kentucky, and run through October 15 in Evansville, Indiana. "We love the fans here in the U.S.; they make us feel so at home," the trio said in an official statement. "When we got the call from our team that Jason had extended us an invitation to tour with him, we did a little jig, in other words, we were elated and honored to tour with one of country music's hottest acts." The McClymonts recently released their debut album, Chaos and Bright Lights in the U.S. Their new album, Wrapped Up Good, hits stores in Australia on January 15. Dierks Bentley, Lady Antebellum and Reba McEntire Featured on New Rock Band Playlist
The Rock Band Music store is continuing to roll out more and more of your favorite Country tunes for the popular video game. Beginning next week, songs from Reba McEntire, Dierks Bentley, Lady Antebellum, Jamey Johnson and more will be available for gamers to sing and play along to on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Wii. The “Going Country Pack 04” will feature nine songs that can also be purchased separately.   Martina McBride is one Country star who is ready to step up to the microphone for an encore performance and a chance to redeem her previous attempts. Zac Brown Expecting Fourth Child
Zac Brown has another on the way, but it’s not a Grammy this time. Brown and wife Shelly are expecting child No. 4. With three peas already in the pod, the Brown family is expecting their fourth daughter. A report from People magazine stated Brown’s daughter is expected early next year.   Even with another child on the way, the New Artist Grammy winner and his band are still working hard on their music. With album You Get What You Give under construction, Brown is a very busy man. According to The Boot, special guest appearances on the up-and-coming album will be made by Alan Jackson and Jimmy Buffett. Brown is always trying to perfect and grow through his music, telling The Boot, “We are always evolving”.   Currently the Zac Brown Band is touring and giving their fans a preview of what to expect from the new album, expected to be released Sept. 21.

Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood Return As CMA Hosts
Country Music superstars Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood return this year to host The 44th Annual CMA Awards, to air live on Wednesday, Nov. 10 at 8 p.m. EST on the ABC network. This is the third time the duo has stepped up with hosting duties, and both are set to give "Country Music's Biggest Night" their all. "The CMAs are different from any other awards night," Paisley said. "You're looking at a roomful of people who love each other." "It's all about Country Music," said Underwood. "We all live here. This is our community. The CMA Awards are in Nashville, the home of Country Music. It's great to come here and celebrate that every year." The pair is familiar with the other side of the CMAs as well — walking home with an award. Paisley has earned a total of 13 CMAs since 2000, while Underwood has taken five of the awards during her career.

Taylor Swift Donates $100K For Tennessee Playground
Taylor Swift has reportedly donated at whopping $100,000 to help replace a playground damaged by the May floods in the Nashville area. The playground, located in Hendersonville, Tennessee, is set to be completely rebuilt and will now include a new set of volleyball courts. "It's overwhelming," city parks commissioner Dave LeMarbre told the Hendersonville Star-News. "We didn't expect that. We appreciate Taylor's donation as well as all the others who have stepped up." Swift lived in Hendersonville and attended an area high school before she hit it big and moved into Nashville. The teen starlet is also making headlines this week with the release of her new "Mine" music video. It is the first from her new album Speak Now, which hits stores on October 25.

Willie Nelson, Dierks Bentley To Headline Gulf Benefit
An upcoming benefit concert for the victims of the Gulf oil spill will feature performances by Willie Nelson and Dierks Bentley, among others. The DeLuana Fest will take place October 15-17 in Pensacola, Florida, and is being made possible thanks to a $300,000 donation from the Escambia County Tourist Development Council's BP funds. The money is just a small chunk of the $25 million that BP has forked over to the state of Florida. Organizers have confirmed Nelson to headline the last day of the three-day extravaganza. Stone Temple Pilots and Daughtry have also been confirmed as headliners for the fall fest. Tickets to the benefit show are free of charge thanks to the $300,000 donation.
