Farm Aid Concert Taking Place This Weekend In Pennsylvania

Willie Nelson is set once again to host Farm Aid. The 2012 edition of the annual event will take place at Hersheypark Stadium in Hershey, Pennsylvania on Saturday. Willie is among the stars slated to perform, along with Kenny Chesney, Jamey Johnson, Grace Potter and the Nocturnals, and Lukas Nelson and the Promise of the Real. Farm Aid founders John Mellencamp and Neil Young will also take the stage, along with longtime Farm Aid board member Dave Matthews. The event will also feature Tim Reynolds, who'll take the stage with Matthews, Jack Johnson, Pegi Young and The Survivors, and Brent James & the Contraband. Fans not attending the event in person can tune in online for "Farm Aid 2012: A Backstage Pass," which will feature performances from the stage; interviews with the artists, fans, and other participants; and other behind-the-scenes activity. The webcast will air Saturday from 8:00 p.m. until 11:00 p.m. Eastern.

Through the concerts, the Farm Aid organization raises awareness and money to assist family farmers. Since its start in 1985, the charity has brought in 39-million-dollars to fund programs that support family-run farms and promote the food they grow.
