Oak Ridge Boys Headlining Charity "Shindig"
The Oak Ridge Boys will be spending time this weekend supporting music education while honoring a gospel treasure. The group is set to headline the I'll Fly Away Foundation's inaugural "Shindig" celebrating the 80th anniversary of the organization's namesake song. "I'll Fly Away" was written by Albert E. Brumley. It was first published in 1932, and has become one of the most recorded songs in gospel music. Dailey & Vincent and the Blackwood Brothers Quartet are also on board for the benefit, taking place at the John Q. Hammons Center in Rogers, Arkansas on Saturday. Money raised through the "Shindig" will go toward the foundation's scholarship program for music students. The I'll Fly Away Foundation is dedicated preserving American music of all genres.
