Jake Owen made one five-year-old's birthday very special by giving her a call. According to TasteofCountry.com, Ava Schipke didn't ask for much for her birthday, but one of her wishes was a call from the country singer. When her birthday rolled around on Tuesday, Ava's mother, Kristy, found her in tears. She was crying because her "boyfriend," Jake Owen, hadn't called to wish her happy birthday. Kristy then tweeted about her daughter's disappointment and tagged Owen in the message. He saw the message and called Ava before her birthday was over. The phone call reportedly lasted for five-minutes and ended with Owen singing Ava's favorite song "Barefoot Blue Jean Night."
Kristy says during the call Ava's eyes were "as big as saucers." She also said the "bar is set high for Christmas" because now Ava wants to meet Owen at Christmas.
