Academy of Country Music Awards Set for April 1st

Reba McEntire and Blake Shelton will be back to host the Academy of Country Music Awards this year. This year's ceremony is taking place April 1st at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. This is the second consecutive year for Reba and Blake to host the awards show. Last year, Reba was a little cautious when it was announced that Blake would be her co-host, admitting that he was prone to spontaneous speech that might not work so well on a live awards show. The show went off without a hitch although Blake did manage to get in a few quips throughout the night.

Billed as Country Music's Party of the Year, the awards show honors the top singers, entertainers and songwriters in country music. What sets it apart as an industry awards show is that the fans get to vote for their choice of Entertainer of the Year. Tickets to the general public go on sale at 10 a.m. on January 25th through Ticketmaster outlets. CBS will air the 47th annual Academy of Country Music Awards live from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on April 1st starting at 8 p.m. Eastern.
