Alan Jackson Performing, Raising Money For Mineral, Virginia This Weekend

Alan Jackson will be in Virginia this weekend for a special show. On Sunday the country star will perform for fans from the parking lot of the condemned Louisa County High School in Mineral, Virginia. Alan admits this won't be like one of his typical concerts.

Mineral, which was at epicenter of last August's East Coast earthquake, won the show through last fall's "Free Alan Jackson Concert Contest." While the town's population is less than 500, the quake-ravaged community received more than 31-thousand votes to earn the concert. Three-thousand free tickets were available for the show, while additional tickets were sold to raise money for the Louisa Education Foundation, which will use the funds to rebuild the town's schools. The singer is also bringing in more money for the town with The Alan Jackson Charity Golf Classic, which will take place at The Royal Virginian Golf Course in Louisa, Virginia on Saturday.
