George Jones Returns To Hospital, Postpones More Shows
George Jones is back in the hospital. A rep for the 80-year-old Country Music Hall of Famer says the singer continues to battle an upper respiratory infection that had him hospitalized for several days back in March. While he's been recovering at home, the infection hasn't gone away. As a result Jones returned to a medical facility in the Nashville area to undergo further testing and evaluation.
Jones is also postponing more concerts. While the singer was originally planning to make his return to the stage with a performance with Loretta Lynn on Friday, he's now cancelling all dates through June. Make-goods will be scheduled when possible. As it now stands, George is hoping to resume performing with an appearance at the Grassroots Festival in Trumansburg, New York on July 19th.
