Alan Jackson Raises Funds For Colorado Wildfire Relief
Alan Jackson is offering up proceeds from a recent concert to help the victims of the Colorado wildfire. The country music superstar performed at the famed Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Colorado last Thursday where he announced that special front row seats that were sold for the event would go to the Denver Foundation for use by the Colorado Wildfire Relief Fund. According to TasteOfCountry.com, the tickets were released to the public that morning. Within hours, several thousand dollars were raised for the effort. The Waldo Canyon Fire is now about 55-percent contained with full containment expected July 11th. The blaze has scorched nearly 18-thousand acres and destroyed about 350 homes.
Jackson recently raised 152-thousand-dollars for the town of Mineral, Virginia which was rocked by a devastating earthquake last year. The money raised for the event came from a radio-sponsored contest for the town.
