Kenny Chesney is among the stars who helped the nation celebrate its independence yesterday. The county singer kicked off NBC's "The Macy's 4th of July Fireworks Spectacular" with a performance of his hit "Summertime" from a rooftop bar on New York's Fifth Avenue.
Chesney also sang his current single, "Come Over" during the hour-long special. Pop singer Katy Perry turned in a couple of songs for the event as well. Regis Philbin hosted the show, which concluded with a massive fireworks display over the Hudson River. Taylor Swift's "Sparks Fly" and Lee Greenwood's "God Bless The U.S.A." were included in the soundtrack to the pyrotechnic display.
