Richie, Underwood, Bryan Albums Among Year's Best Sellers
Lionel Richie's country duets disc as well as the latest releases from Carrie Underwood and Luke Bryan are among the best selling albums of 2012. Billboard.com says Richie's "Tuskegee," which features collaborations with a variety of country stars including Tim McGraw, Blake Shelton and Shania Twain, ranks second with a sales total of 912-thousand. Meanwhile, Underwood's "Blown Away," which just arrived in stores in early May, has the number six spot with 602-thousand copies sold. Bryan's 2011 release "Tailgates & Tanlines" has racked up 574-thousand in sales since the start of this year to land at number seven.
Adele is leading the way with her enormously successful 2011 album "21." More than nine-point-four-million copies of the disc have sold since its release in February 2011, and three-million-668-thousand of those purchases were made over the past six months.
