Martina McBride Supporting Daughter's Dream Of Becoming An Actress
Martina McBride says she loves "being part of making someone's dreams come true," and the singer is devoting time this summer to doing just that. She writes on her website blog that the McBride family is moving to Los Angeles for a month so her 14-year-old daughter Emma can explore acting. Martina explains that it's something her middle child has always wanted to do, so they're giving her the chance and enrolling her in acting classes and workshops this summer. The country star says this could be "the beginning of realizing her dream," and she wants to be supportive. Martina admits her parents "did everything possible" to help her when she wanted to pursue her dream of becoming a singer.
Martina is also helping aspiring musicians realize their dreams through the new E! series "Opening Act." The singer says she enjoys the show, and thinks it's a "really cool" idea. "Opening Act" began its run this week. Martina is part of the show's Artist Development Team, which finds undiscovered talent through the Internet and works with promising hopefuls to prepare them to open a concert for a major artist. Brad Paisley and Jason Aldean are among the headliners who'll be featured on the show, which airs on E! Monday nights at 10:00 p.m. Eastern.
