Taylor Swift Talks Style, Makeup Dos And Don'ts
Taylor Swift says she enjoys trying out new looks. The singer-songwriter tells Refinery29.com she'd describe her own sense of style as "classic, feminine, and retro." She says that over the past year she's been inspired by photos from the 1950s and '60s of Ethel and Jacqueline Kennedy. Swift explains that they had an elegance to their look that is "really lovely," and leaves her wanting to "dress more like they did."
Taylor admits she likes changing up her look, which tends to be driven more by her hair and makeup than her clothes and accessories. She says her schedule for the day usually determines how she'll style her hair, while with makeup she currently really likes the look of "red lips and a cat-eye." Swift adds that with makeup, markers aren't a good substitute for the real thing. She recalls that in a pinch she "once used a Sharpie as eyeliner," and she wouldn't advise others to follow that example.
