Kix Brooks Shares Origins Of "New To This Town"

Kix Brooks says he shouldn't have written the song "New To This Town." The singer explains that it came from a scheduled writing session with Marv Dennis and Terry McBride that he really didn't have time to attended.

Brooks recalls that Marv had the initial idea for "New To This Town" -- and didn't think much of it -- but he disagreed and pushed them to pursue the concept. He adds that he was so excited about the song he played it for Rascal Flatts' Jay DeMarcus while they were in the studio working on another project, and Jay ended up producing the track. Kix released "New To This Town" earlier this year as his first post-Brooks & Dunn single. He also chose the song to be the title track to his upcoming album, which will be in stores on September 11th.
