Country Stars Share Sorrow, Disbelief, Concerns Over Aurora Cinema Shooting
Country stars are taking to Twitter to express their shock and sadness over Friday's shooting at an Aurora, Colorado movie theater. Brad Paisley tweets that "There are no words to describe how terrible the Colorado theater shooting is," while Reba McEntire, Billy Ray Cyrus, and Steel Magnolia's Meghan Linsey are among those praying for the victims. Jewel says her "heart breaks" for everyone involved, quote, "even the gunmans parents. Can u imagine?" Randy Houser says he's "sickened" by what happened, and suggests everyone "do our best not to let the culprit have an ounce of fame for this gross act on humanity." Charlie Daniels is expressing his concern that the shooting will get "the gun control bunch to start howling," and he doesn't want the tragedy to lead to the elimination of Americans' right to bear arms.
Twelve people were killed and 58 others injured after a gunman opened fire on moviegoers at a midnight screening Friday of the new Batman movie, "The Dark Knight Rises." A 24-year-old man is in custody in connection to the shootings. He is scheduled to appear in court on Monday.
