Toby Keith is another country star that was apparently on "American Idol" producers' list of possible new judges. Examiner.com says that in a future cover story for "Inland Empire Weekly" the singer reveals he was approached by the Fox reality show, who wanted him to take over the seat vacated by Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler. But Keith turned "Idol" down, saying his schedule wouldn't be able to accommodate the large time commitment required for the show.

Brad Paisley is also reportedly among the singers "Idol" has considered to fill the judges' table for the show's upcoming 12th season, while other famous names including Charlie Sheen and Jerry Lewis have also cropped up as possibilities. "Idol" recently signed Mariah Carey to the show to replace departing judge Jennifer Lopez. There's been no official announcement yet regarding Randy Jackson, but he is expected to return to the show.
