Utah Man Sings Lee Greenwood Hit 911 Times As September 11th Tribute
A Utah man is using Lee Greenwood's "God Bless The U.S.A." for his September 11th tribute. St. George, Utah's "The Spectrum" says Alan Foote commemorated the eleventh anniversary of the 2001 terrorist attacks by performing the song 911 times. Accompanying himself on a keyboard, he began his 48-hour vocal marathon under a tent at Staheli Family Farms in Washington City, Utah on Sunday. Foote completed the feat Tuesday at 6:46 a.m. local time, marking the precise moment the first plane struck New York's World Trade Center eleven years ago. Foote says he was inspired to sing Greenwood's hit as a 9-11 tribute earlier this year, when a New York City school bumped the patriotic song from a kindergarten graduation program.
