Hunter Hayes says he's both thrilled and stunned to have his first number one single with "Wanted." The country singer admits he's finding it hard to grasp that he now has a chart-topping hit to his credit, and he's "unbelievably grateful" for all the support he's received. Hunter is extending his thanks to his promotional team and country radio, as well as "all the incredible fans" who helped make "Wanted." He says they not only helped him decide to put "Wanted" out as a single, but they also "supported it all the way to where it is." "Wanted" is also Hunter's first Platinum single. The track has surpassed the one-million mark in downloads. It received the certification late last month.
"Wanted" is the second release from Hunter's self-titled debut album, following the lead-off single "Storm Warning." Hunter is supporting his music on the road this fall. He's opening shows on Carrie Underwood's "Blown Away" tour. He'll be warming up the crowd for Carrie in Worcester, Massachusetts Wednesday night.
