Jake Owen Headlining "CMT On Tour" Trek

10/10/2012

Jake Owen says he's facing some challenges as he prepares to head out on his first headlining tour. The singer is leading up the lineup for this fall's "CMT on Tour." He tells CMT.com he'll be performing in "a bunch of intimate, cool venues" but the buildings vary in size, so he's had to come up with a show that seems "bigger than life" that can easily be adapted to fit the space. Jake says another challenge comes in creating a show that reflects his new status as a headliner. He explains that he wants his longtime fans to see the concert and walk away thinking "'Wow, he really has hit the next level." Owen adds that he's also hoping to see his fan base grow through the trek. The country star says his goal is to put on a show that's interesting and entertaining, and leaves those seeing him for the first time eager to attend his next concert.

"CMT on Tour Jake Owen: The Summer Never Ends 2012" gets under way with a sold-out show in New York City on Wednesday. Other sell-out stops include Detroit and St. Louis, while all the tickets for Jake's two-night stand in Chicago were gone in less than two minutes. Love And Theft and Florida Georgia Line are also on board as the openers. Owen will wrap up the 22-date trek with his annual charity concert in his hometown of Vero Beach, Florida on December 15th.
