Keith Urban To Receive Nashville Symphony's Harmony Award
Keith Urban is set to be honored by the Nashville Symphony. The country star is this year's recipient of the orchestra's Harmony Award. He'll be recognized with a special presentation during the Symphony Ball, taking place at the Schermerhorn Symphony Center in Nashville on December 8th. The annual prize recognizes individuals who show ongoing interest and support for the Nashville music community, and who have been a significant addition to its development. Previous Harmony Award winners include Rascal Flatts, Martina McBride, LeAnn Rimes, Vince Gill, Carrie Underwood, and Dolly Parton. Taylor Swift received the prize last year.
Nashville Symphony President Alan Valentine says Urban is definitely deserving of the honor. He calls the singer "a vital force" in Nashville's music community. He adds that Keith's "passion for music, his presence at Symphony concerts, and his involvement in this community is precisely what the Harmony Award symbolizes."
