Taylor, Toby Among "Forbes'" Top Paid
Taylor Swift is to Paul McCartney what Toby Keith is to Justin Bieber on a new "Forbes" list. The country stars are in top ten tie positions with their rock and pop counterparts on the list of the 25 Highest Paid Musicians of 2012. Swift and McCartney check in at number eight, both bringing in earnings of 57 million dollars between May 2011 and May 2012. Taylor's tour and CoverGirl contract helped elevate her among music's major moneymakers. Keith and Bieber, meantime, cap the top ten at number ten with reported earnings of 55-million-dollars each during the same time period. "Forbes" says Toby owes his big bank bucks to his booming I Love This Bar and Grill restaurant chain, as well as his sold-out concerts.
Topping this year's "Forbes" list of top paid acts is hip-hop icon Dr. Dre with 110-million-dollars. Dre earned most of his top dollars through his popular Beats By Dre Headphones line. Pink Floyd rocker Roger Waters is second on the list with 88-million-dollars in earnings, followed by Elton John at number three with 80-million-dollars.
