Swift Earns Spots On "Billboard's" Critics, Readers Year-End Surveys
Taylor Swift is receiving more recognition from "Billboard," from both the readers and the critics. The singer's hit "Begin Again" is in the top ten on the publication's "20 Best Songs of 2012: Critics' Picks" list, ranking sixth. The magazine praises the "quiet moments" in the second single from Taylor's album "Red," saying they "allowed Swift to reach a heretofore unheard level of maturity." "Billboard" previously acknowledged that Taylor's growth is evident throughout "Red," which earned fifth place on the "10 Best Albums of 2012: Critics' Picks" list. Usher tops the "Billboard" critics' "Best Songs" run down with "Climax." Swift is the only country star on the list.
Meanwhile, Taylor's cropping up on Billboard.com's "Readers Poll 2012." But she's being recognized for her sense of style, not her music. Swift received 12-percent of the vote to take third place behind Rihanna and Beyonce for Best Fashion.
