Chely Wright Turns To Kickstarter To Fund New Album

(Undated) -- Chely Wright is making a musical comeback. The country singer is looking to fund her new studio project through Kickstarter. Her new disc will be her first since 2010's "Lifted Off The Ground." The album arrived on the same day as her memoir, "Like Me," in which she officially came out and became the first openly-gay country star. And Chely admits on her Kickstarter page that a lot has happened over the past four years -- including getting married and becoming a mom. She adds that throughout it all she's been writing songs which she's excited for her fans to hear. In just a week Wright had pledges totaling more than a third of the 175-thousand she's hoping to raise. Her fundraising effort runs through October 9th.
