The Civil Wars Announce Breakup After Two Year Hiatus

(Undated) -- The Civil Wars has come to an end. Grammy winning folk duo Joy Williams and John Paul White have officially announced their decision to go their separate ways. Citing "internal discord and irreconcilable difference of ambition," the duo canceled a European tour in 2012 and had been on hiatus ever since. Williams said in a statement that she was "saddened and disappointed by the ending" of her collaboration with White but said she would always be grateful for the music they were able to create together. White thanked Civil Wars' fans for their support. The duo is leaving fans with a parting gift - a download of their 2010 recording of "You Are My Sunshine." It's the first time the song has been available digitally in the U.S.
