Eli Young Band Sought Uptempo Songs For Latest Album

(Nashville, TN) -- The Eli Young Band's Mike Eli says the group wasn't interested in packing their latest album with ballads. The country star explains it's because they considered bringing the material to the stage when they worked on "10,000 Towns."

But Chris Thompson adds that the mood of the group also played a role in their decisions. The drummer explains that there's "a really fun vibe on this record," because all four band members are "really happy" and in "really good places" in their lives right now. The Eli Young Band is spending time this summer on the road supporting "10,000 Towns." Their next appearance is set for the Country USA festival in Oshkosh, Wisconsin on Friday.
