Emily West Headed To Semifinals On "America's Got Talent"
Aug. 24, 2014
(Undated) -- Another country singer is looking to restart her career through reality TV. But unlike Sarah Darling, who was eliminated from this summer's "Rising Star" in the fourth week, Emily West is headed to the semifinals on "America's Got Talent." Emily tells "Country Weekly" competing on the NBC reality show has kept her busy, but she's "really enjoying" what she's doing. She also admits she's "such a dreamer," so it's been fun to "fantasize" about what's coming next. Emily adds that it's been great to actually perform for an audience on the show, instead of just "talking about making music." She explains that her goal is to sing to audiences in theaters all over the world, and "give back to people" through her music.
West launched her recording career with her self-titled EP in late 2007, and reached the top 40 with her 2008 debut "Rocks in Your Shoes." Her highest charting song is the 2010 Keith Urban collaboration "Blue Sky," which peaked at number 38.
