Garth Brooks Sells Out Ten Shows In Chicago

(Chicago, IL) -- Garth Brooks. Chicago. Ten shows. Sold Out. The country superstar has his work cut out for him in the Windy City starting in September. According to the "Chicago Tribune," an estimated 180-thousand tickets for Brooks' Chicago shows were sold in less than three hours after going on sale Friday. Brooks had only previously announced a September 4th date to launch his comeback tour at the Allstate Arena in Rosemont, northwest of Chicago. But 45 minutes after those tickets went on sale, the concert promoter added three more shows, then five additional shows until ten shows were scheduled. Brooks has not performed in Chicago since the late 1990s and just recently announced his return to touring after a 13-year hiatus. The 52-year-old singer is also working on a new album, his first since 2001. He says it will be released later this year.
