George Strait's Tour Finale Sets More Records

(Undated) -- King George rules over the country concert industry. Billboard.com says George Strait's all-star tour finale earlier this month in Arlington, Texas is breaking several records -- including some he previously set. At the June 7th show the singer raked in 18-million-194-thousand-374 dollars, which become the highest grossing single country concert ever. It shatters the previous record of eight-point-one-million dollars, which Strait set last year with his appearance at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. Strait now has the three highest grossing country concerts ever -- and he played them all in Texas. Number three on the list is Strait's June 1st, 2013 show in San Antonio, which brought in seven-point-two-million dollars.

In addition, the crowd at this month's Arlington show -- 104-thousand-793 -- isn't just the largest audience for a single U.S. concert. It also shatters Strait's previous record for the largest audience at an indoor venue -- 80-thousand-020 -- which he also set at RodeoHouston last year. And now Strait doesn't just have the U.S. record, but the global indoor concert attendance record as well.
