Groundbreaking For Jimmy Dean Museum Taking Place Tuesday


(Plainview, TX) -- The late Jimmy Dean is receiving special recognition in his hometown. The "Lubbock Avalanche-Journal" says the country star's widow Donna Dean Stevens is among those who'll be on hand for the groundbreaking ceremony Tuesday of the Jimmy Dean Museum in Plainview, Texas. The event will also include a special reception and a viewing of a bronze sculpture of Dean, which will eventually be displayed at the Dean Museum. The facility will showcase the Country Music Hall of Famer's life and career, including artifacts and memorabilia from his childhood, his years as an entertainer, and his successful sausage business. Wayland Baptist University and The Museum of the Llano Estacado are behind the project. The Jimmy Dean Museum is expected to open in August 2015.
