Ireland Tourism Department Planning Events For Axed Garth Brooks Concert Dates

(Dublin) -- Ireland Minister for Tourism Michael Ring says he's "very disappointed" for Garth Brooks fans that the country superstar's concerts have been cancelled. But he tells the "Irish Times" they "have to move on now," and are planning to do so with a series of events to take place in lieu of Brooks' shows. Ring is encouraging people who had Garth Brooks tickets to still come to Dublin, explaining that Failte Ireland is putting together a festival that will be "a bit of a hoedown." He says the event will feature country music and other activities specifically geared toward Garth's audience. Details are expected to be unveiled on Wednesday. Brooks' shows were slated to take place from July 25th through the 29th.
