Keith Urban Attributes Fan Base Growth To "American Idol"

(Nashville, TN) -- Keith Urban says being a judge on "American Idol" has enhanced his relationship with his fans. The country star explains that through the Fox reality show he can connect with his audience on another level.

Urban adds that "Idol" is responsible for the recent growth to his fan base. The singer says he's drawing bigger crowds to his concerts, and he knows many of those new audience members discovered him through "Idol." Keith is returning to the road later this week. He'll kick off a two-week Australian trek in Townsville on Saturday. Urban is slated to launch his North American "Raise 'Em Up" tour at the Calgary Stampede in Alberta, Canada on July 12th. The first U.S. stop on the trek is set for Atlantic City, New Jersey on July 17th
