Kix Brooks Credits Dad With Country Music Career

(Nashville, TN) -- Kix Brooks says he might never have really launched his country music career if it weren't for his father. The singer recalls early on he was considering buying a club back home in Louisiana, and his dad advised him against it.

Brooks explains that buying the club wasn't his way of giving up on his dream. He says a friend owned the place and he used to perform there. Kix recalls when his friend wanted to sell, he thought that by owning it he'd be securing himself a steady gig.
