Ludacris Explains "Rising Star" Tardiness On "Kimmel"

(Hollywood, CA) -- ABC gave viewers a sneak peak at the network's new singing competition "Rising Star" this week by cutting into the last few minutes of "The Bachelorette." The test was meant to demonstrate the live nature of the show, which was made even more obvious when Ludacris, one of "Rising Star's" celebrity experts, failed to show up in time for the East Coast test. On Tuesday's "Jimmy Kimmel Live," the rapper explained where he was.

Luda was able to make it to the West Coast test by taking a helicopter to the studio, which he documented on Instagram to keep with the social media theme of "Rising Star." He and fellow experts Brad Paisley and Kesha stopped by "Kimmel" along with host Josh Groban to explain how the show works. Viewers will be able to cast votes for each contestant with a free "Rising Star" app. They can also send in selfies to put a face with their vote, and Kesha joked that it's only a matter of time before people start submitting what she called "interesting" pictures of themselves that may or may not actually include their face. "Rising Star" is scheduled to premiere this Sunday.

Kesha jokes about the selfies people might send in on "Rising Star." Brad Paisley jokes about his new "expert" label. Brad Paisley and Josh Groban explain how the voting on "Rising Star" works.
