Mac Wiseman Honoring Mom With New Album

(Nashville, TN) -- Mac Wiseman says his love of music stems from his mom. The Country Music Hall of Famer explains that she did what she could to foster his fascination with the songs she enjoyed on the radio.

Mac adds that he still has "vivid memories" of certain songs that date back to when he was a young boy. The 89-year-old country star recalls that his mom would fill notebooks with the lyrics to the songs she heard, and he'd sit with a kerosene light at the kitchen table and read them. He says the ballads and story-songs were the ones that really appealed to him. Mac's new album, "Songs From My Mother's Hand," includes material his mom introduced to him all those years ago. The disc will be available on September 23rd.
