Mark Wills Making Return, Taking Control Over Career

(Undated) -- Mark Wills says he hasn't been out of the spotlight by choice. The singer tells "Country Weekly" that since his 2011 release he's had two record deals that "fell apart" due to internal problems within the companies. But he says that won't happen again, because he's making his next album on his own. Mark adds that he's grateful for the opportunity to select his own songs and production team, so he doesn't have to "worry about all the other stuff on the side" that has kept him from getting his music on the radio "for the past ten years." He says all those hurdles will now be things he has "direct control over."

Wills doesn't say when fans can expect new music from him. But he explains that his upcoming release will feature an updated version of is signature sound, and the songs should blend in well with current country hits.
