Michael W. Smith Making Plans Around Holiday Album


(Nashville, TN) -- Michael W. Smith says he might be taking on a big project with his upcoming holiday release. The contemporary Christian singer explains that "The Spirit Of Christmas" could become more than just an album.


"The Spirit Of Christmas" was inspired by a TV special. Last year's "CMA Country Christmas" producer Robert Deaton came up with the idea for the album after seeing Michael perform on the show with Jennifer Nettles. The Sugarland singer is also one of the guests on the album. Carrie Underwood, Lady Antebellum, Little Big Town, and Martina McBride are some of Michael's other duet partners. "The Spirit Of Christmas" is slated for release on September 30th.
