Sammy Kershaw Honoring George Jones With New Album

(Nashville, TN) -- Sammy Kershaw is paying tribute to a legend with his new album, "Do You Know Me? A Tribute to George Jones." The country star says he's been moved by Jones' music since he was a little boy.

Sammy adds that as a teenager he got his first chance to meet George. He says he wasn't afraid, but was thrilled to have the opportunity to speak to one of his heroes. Sammy recalls the first question he asked George was about his boots.

Kershaw's "Do You Know Me?" is in stores now. On the 14-track collection Sammy covers some of George's biggest hits, including "White Lightning" and "He Stopped Loving Her Today." The set also features a version of the George Jones-Tammy Wynette duet "Near You" that Sammy recorded with George's daughter, Georgette Jones, and Kershaw's personal tribute to George, "The Route That I Took."
