Waylon Jennings Auction To Be Held This Fall


(Phoenix, AZ) -- Some of the late Waylon Jennings' cherished possessions are headed to auction. "The Arizona Republic" says the highlight of the sale is an Ariel Cyclone motorcycle that once belonged to Buddy Holly. Other noteworthy items include a pair of cowboy boots custom-made for Hank Williams Sr., a handwritten letter from John Lennon, and the contract that formed The Highwaymen featuring Waylon, Johnny Cash, Kris Kristofferson, and Willie Nelson. Also going up for bid is a pair of braids Willie clipped from his own head back in 1983 as a show of support for Waylon's sobriety efforts.

Jenning's widow, Jessi Colter, has assembled more than two-thousand items for the sale, which is being handled by Guernsey's auctions. The auction will take place at The Musical Instrument Museum in Phoenix on October 5th. Money raised will go to the Phoenix Children's Hospital.
