Mel was born into greatness at Community East Hospital in Indianapolis,
IN. She has been representing the east side her entire life and only
momentarily spent time outside the city limits. For high school, she
caused a ruckus in Ferdinand, IN where she attended an all girls Catholic
boarding school (yes, she still has the outfit) and during college,
Bloomington, IN was taken by storm. If someone said she was a diligent
student and spent all her time in the library, they would only be
telling half a lie. Mel spent most of college working 40 plus hours
a week, playing beer pong, and writing papers at 3 o’clock in
the morning. Senior year, she got her first gig in radio.
Mel started in radio as the receptionist and did everything but answer
the phones. Mel has not only been on-air as a personality, but she
is also a traffic reporter, voices commercials, does random TV gigs,
films and video work. When not working, she enjoys taking random road
trips, going to concerts, and eating—a lot!
On any given day, Mel loves peanut butter by the spoonful, hates stupidity,
and doesn’t regret anything. Her clothes are most likely wrinkled,
she loves dangly earrings, and she takes coffee with her sugar. She
is not allowed to cook without supervision, she refuses to make a
habit of squeezing toothpaste from the bottom of the tube, and she
is known to eat Cheeze Whiz without crackers. Daisies make her smile;
she will scream if you make her walk over a sidewalk grate, and her
biggest fear is raising children. She's working on getting over that.

Ella Therese McMahon 10 weeks, born to life
February 7, 2008, born to eternal life April 22, 2008. Her presence
was brief, but her impact is infinite. She reminded us how to
love, laugh, and appreciate life. Ella is survived by her mommy,
Mel McMahon; daddy, Eric Hodges; grandparents, Roy and Luci
McMahon and Maurice and Carolyn Hodges; aunts; uncles, family,
and friends. Now Ella really is our Angel Baby.
In response to those of you who have expressed an interest in
helping, there has been a memorial fund set up. Your donations
would be used to cover final expenses and other urgent needs.
Remaining funds will be given to a SIDS charity, TBD by Mel.
