Tribe Kelley is down one pack member... their dog, Sarge Kelley, is now an IMPD K9!

Before FGL Fest on Saturday during the Big Machine Vodka 400 weekend at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, Brian Kelley and his wife Brittney donated their dog to the Indianapolis Police Department.

"So many of y'all have asked us about our 5th dog, Sarge, and we decided to donate him to an Indianapolis Police Officer at the FGL Fest today!" Brittney said in her Instagram story. "We really love him but he will have such a wonderful life serving the Indiana Police Department. We have been planning this for a while and as it was hard for us to see him go, we knew he would be an amazing aid to an officer. We will be able to keep up with him through his time serving!"

Sarge first walked into Tribe Kelley in June of 2018 when he was just a pup. According to CNN, they realized Sarge had special talents and would make a strong police dog.  "We are so excited that Sarge will live a life of keeping people and his officers safe," Brian and Brittney Kelley said in a joint statement. "Being able to give back is something in our hearts and last night in Indianapolis was a moment we won't forget."

THANK YOU Brian & Brittney for trusting our incredible police officers with Sarge. We're proud to make Indy his home and to have him in the #WeAreIMPD family!

Introducing K9 Sarge! Sarge is a sable German Shepherd who was introduced to @briankelley and @brittneykelley at just 10 weeks old as a potential addition to their family. With the intent to adopt, the Kelleys worked with trainer Mike Sweeney @sweeneydog3 to help prepare Sarge for his new life with the famous couple. During Sarge’s time with Sweeney, it became apparent that he had “special talents and would make a strong police dog.” Brian and Brittney recognized this as an incredible opportunity to give back to the community of Indianapolis. On September 7th, Florida Georgia Line honored police officers everywhere when they presented IMPD with the generous gift of Sarge. Sarge will complete his police training with IMPD’s K9-Unit under the guidance of his new handler, Mike. K9 Sarge will be trained in explosives detection, where his work will help to keep both citizens and officers safe for many years to come. Thank you @floridageorgialine for K9 Sarge. #k9 #police #gsd #policedog #policek9 #k9sarge #impd #bombdog #fgl #workingdog
