Sam Hunt Teases New Music For First Time In Over a Year
Sam Hunt is back! If you've been patiently waiting for new music from the "Body Like A Back Road" singer, the wait is almost over. Sam Hunt's new song "Kinfolks" will be available tomorrow (10/10) at 5pm ET.
For the past few days, Sam Hunt has been hinting at new music on his social media by posting nostalgic pictures with lyrics as captions. "I wanna introduce you to my Kinfolks, to my old friends / To the house in the pines where the road ends / Take you to my hometown, where I grew up / Get Joanie on the phone, she'll leave us on a light / I wanna take you home, not just take you home tonight."
Today (10/9) he followed up the mysterious posts with a teaser video of his new song titled "Kinfolks" [LISTEN BELOW].
"Kinfolks" is the first new music from Sam Hunt since his 2018 single, "Downtown's Dead."
According to an ABC press release, Sam explained, “When I think of kinfolks, when I think of that phrase, I think of my family, but also I think of my people back home -- beyond family. It’s my buddies who’ve been a part of my story from the beginning. I’ve made a lot of new friends and met a lot of new people who are important to me since I’ve moved away, but that core group is still my core group. It’s like that old saying, ‘You can’t make old friends.’”
Can we expect more new music from Sam Hunt soon? According to an ABC press release, Sam is in the studio finishing up his second album and we can expect it to arrive next year. Until then, we will be playing "Kinfolks" on repeat!
