I told you I was working on something special to accompany the Magnolia album. Well, this is a first look at Magnolia, THE FILM, based on the music from Magnolia! Much of the album’s theme is someone running from something and running to something, even if they don’t know exactly what they are running towards at the time. And this film captures that. I can’t wait for you to see this film, and most of all can’t wait for you to hear the album! #Magnolia
According to an ABC Press Release, Randy stars as a local singer in the film, set in his home state of Mississippi. The storyline follows two characters, Ana and Noah, who are "in the midst of an intense relationship." Magnolia is based off the music in the album and will feature several live performances by Houser. Not only does Randy Houser star in the film, he is also the executive producer.
"Magnolia tells my story but also tells the story of running away from something while not knowing exactly what you're running to," Randy explains in a statement. "As I got into the groove of creating this album, the story became so vivid in my mind that I realized it had to live through more than just a body of music and become a film. That's exactly what we created...a film about running towards your truth."
Magnolia the album is available for pre-sale now and features songs such as "No Stone Unturned" and "What Whiskey Does." As for Magnolia the film, Randy Houser has not released any information yet on when it will premiere, but we are so excited to hear the new music and see it come to life on screen!
