With ten-gallon hats, vintage snakeskin boots and hand stitched Nudie Suits that would make Elvis Presley and Hank Williams Jr. jealous, Midland is here to stay.

Mike’s Hard Lemonade & HANKFM dive down to rate Mark Wystrach, Cameron Duddy and Jess Carson’s attire to see what makes Midland’s style really buzz.

3. Hard Black Cherry Suits

Rating: 3 out of 5 Mike’s Hard

The Midland men must have been pre-gaming with Mike’s Hard Black Cherry because they were united under black rhinestone suits ready to take on The 2018 Academy of Country Music Awards.  While they absolutely rocked their performance, singing their hit single “Drinkin’ Problem,” we weren’t too crazy about their outfit choice for this red carpet. Although, when you take home the award for “Best New Vocal Group” who really cares what you’re wearing!

2. Hard Margarita Smooth Suits

Rating: 4 out of 5 Mike’s Hard

Almost exactly three months after hitting No. 1 on the Country Airplay chart, Midland received two Grammy nominations for “Drinkin’ Problem.” In Midland fashion, the boys embraced their retro country music vibe with three unique takes on classic suiting.  They saddled up in custom suits with floral and western-style embroidery. Cameron Duddy and Jess Carson played off each other in a Yin and Yang, light and dark, fashion. The band’s frontman Mark Wystrach brought the two together with a colorful parrot embroidered on a navy suit. The result was a smooth Tex-Mex Mike’s Hard Margarita coordinated look that was completely on-theme, unique, and authentic.

1. Hard Lemonade Classic Suits

Rating: 5 out of 5 Mike’s Hard

The iconic look that once defined an era makes its way back onto the main stage. Midland has brought back the classic Nudie suits and it works! Nudie suits were worn by the likes of Hank Williams, Roy Rogers, Dolly Parton, and Johnny Cash, to John Lennon, Elton John, Cher, Gram Parsons, and Elvis Presley. Adorned with rhinestones and extravagant embroidery, Nudie suits were flashy enough to make a singer stand out from a mile away, allowing the nosebleed concertgoer the chance to see a glimpse of their favorite artist.  The suits worn by Midland are thanks to the amazing needlework of Jenny Lewis and Nikki Lane’s go-to chain-stitch masters Ft. Lonesome. These suits were worn by the bandmates for their first album cover for “On The Rocks” and seen in the music video for their hit, “Make A Little.”  If you couldn’t see Midland before, you certainly can now!

How do you feel about Midland’s retro look? Yay or Nay?

No matter how you feel about the visuals, there is no denying Midland’s traditional seventies-inspired sound and tight harmonies are here to stay. Don’t miss your chance to see Midland at 8 Seconds Saloon on December 12th, presented by Mike’s Hard Lemonade.
