With more time on their hands than usual due to the COVID-19 outbreak, many artists have turned to social media to stay connected with their fans though live streams and viral challenges. One challenge, the Deep Cuts Challenge, was started by Tim McGraw where he nominated other artists to sing a “deep cut,” or a song that they love, even though many people might not know the song. Artists such as Charles Kelley, Morgan Wallen, Luke Combs, and many more have participated in the challenge. See who all has participated below!

 

Artists have also taken to social media for the #DemoChallenge, #IStayHomeFor Challenge, to share songs written about quarantinehow they are dealing with quarantine, and to thank our healthcare heroes.

 

Tim started the challenge by singing “Take The Long Way Home” by John Schneider. He posted the video on Instagram, saying “Who’s got cool songs they’ve always loved to play when they’re sitting around the house or when u were in high school or college? Here’s one of my favs.” He then nominated Kenny Chesney, Brad Paisley, and Jason Aldean to participate in the challenge, writing “I know you got something. See what ya can reach back and play for us.”

 

Brad Paisley accepted the challenge by singing “What I Didn’t Do” by Steve Wariner. He then nominated Darius Rucker with one condition, writing, “no Hootie covers. That’s cheating.”

 

Darius Rucker joined in on the challenge with “You Can Come Cryin’ To Me” by Foster & Lloyd. He also nominated Jason Aldean, Luke Bryan, and Charles Kelley of Lady Antebellum.

 

Charles Kelley accepted the challenge from Darius Rucker. He chose to sing “Call Me a Dog” by Chris Cornell and then challenged Russell Dickerson.

 

Russell Dickerson then came back with “Seventeen” by Tim McGraw, as he was the one who started this all. Russell then nominated Thomas Rhett.

 

Thomas Rhett responded to the challenge with “Blues Man” by Hank Williams Jr. and nominated Morgan Wallen to participate.

 

Morgan Wallen joined in with “Water Tower” by Jason Aldean and nominated Luke Combs.

 

Luke Combs accepted and sung “What Are You Listening To” by Chris Stapleton. He then nominated Vince Gill to participate in the challenge. Vince Gill responded with “Last Dance At The Old Texas Moon” written by Bob McDill and challenged Faith Hill next. So far, Faith has not posted her #DeepCutsChallenge.
