Luke Bryan performed at Ruoff Home Mortgage Center Friday night and took a moment to touch on the current events taking place in Afghanistan.

After performing a few of his hits the country star took an opportunity to share some personal thoughts.

“I want to pray for all those people stuck in Afghanistan right now, I want to pray they get home soon. I don’t understand how the hell that’s going on but all we can do is pray, pray for better days on that situation.”

He goes on to salute the frontline workers for their continued efforts as well as give thanks to the military members in the audience and around the world.

One of his opening acts, Runaway June, also had an emotional moment at the end of their set singing, “America The Beautiful”.  Member, Naomi Cooke, clearly became emotional at the end of the song as you can see below.

The reflective and raw emotion displayed by the artists was received with an echo of applause from the pit all the way to the top of the lawn. The words spoken by Luke Byran and sung by Runaway June clearly resonated through everyone’s hearts in these memorable moments. It was truly beautiful to witness the sense of camaraderie these moments brought amongst fellow audience members.
